Hi Scott, thank you for sharing this idea. The Schuylkill Parkway has a long planning history, and the larger highway concept has not been an active direction for decades. Transportation planning has also changed significantly since then, with more emphasis now placed on safety, multimodal access, environmental impacts, and avoiding the unintended effects of new roadway capacity.
That said, your comment raises useful points about local access and trail connectivity. A side path or other bicycle and pedestrian connection in this area could help residents near West Beidler Road and North Henderson Road reach the Chester Valley Trail and Schuylkill River Trail more safely.
Extend Schuylkill Parkway

The Schuylkill Parkway should be extended up to Brownlie Road as a local access road. To calm any traffic using it as a cut through, speed humps should be installed in strategic locations to keep speeds low. Along the new roadway a side path trail could be constructed that would give residents along West Beidler Road and North Henderson Road easier access to the Chester Valley Trail and Schuylkill River Trail for recreation purposes.
