Very insightful comment, Matthew. Our current comprehensive plan, Montco 2040, explicitly highlights greater frequencies on several regional rail lines as part of our future vision. MCPC staff have been working with SEPTA for many years to unlock the enormous potential that a more frequent regional rail system could deliver to the Delaware Valley.
Make sure you read SEPTA's Regional Rail Master Plan when it is released in the near future. You'll eventually find it at https://wwww.septa.org/reports/.
More frequent trains

I'd love to take transit more if the SEPTA line near me ran more frequently. It's important that I be able to walk up and catch a train after a short wait, rather than having to time my day around a once-an-hour schedule.

Has there been any discussion about Montgomery County coming to the table with resources to improve the regional rail's frequency? We're the second-wealthiest county in the entire state, with significant representation on SEPTA's board. Unless the state steps in to provide SEPTA some sort of new dedicated funding (which I feel like we should not count on), I feel like the only other way to actually achieve the type of rail frequency needed to actually support robust ridership (~15 minute frequency or better) is for the county to step up and provide recurring revenues through some sort of interlocal agreement in exchange for this critical service. Improving stations and the like are all nice, but none of that is really going to matter if people have to wait around for an hour after they miss the train by 30 seconds.
