Revive the US 202 Parkway Trail with Trees and Barriers

From "Map Your Ideas for Montco"

Go to the project

Recently, most of the fences along the parkway trail have been removed as they've been mangled from crashes (I assume, tho maybe just poor design). How can we continue to promote these sorts of trails when it is indirectly acknowledged that they are completely unsafe in the case of an errant car? Yes, I understand this is a parkway arterial route but people using the trails should not be in the clear zone of such a road. Barriers should be reintroduced to protect pedestrians in dangerous sections. Additionally, trees should be planted along the trail to create a far more inviting experience rather than being baked in the sun (this could also serve as traffic calming if done properly). The ongoing negligence in making such a trail enjoyable and safe is disheartening.
